Give our horses the retirement they deserve. Since the start of our adventure over 20 years ago we promised that our horses would remain in the herd as long as possible and not finish at the abattoir. Today, 14 of our 34 horses have reached retirement age. « Aurore » has just celebrated becoming 30! Horses not only live better at the Domaine de Fraisse, but for longer! Unfortunately, our own resources aren't enough to take care of so many retired horses. We wish to assure that they have a decent retirement and also inject some youth into the herd on a regular basis and continue to raise foals. With your help we want to create a special herd for retired horses, construct shelter and have as much straw available as they need so that they are properly cared for for the rest of their lives. Retired horses will be given to our association « LE CHEVAL VAILLANT », which will be paritally financed by donations from the horses "adopted parents". The direct cost for looking after and feeding a horse comes to 100€ a month. Initial investment for shelter and open stables comes to 25 000€, which we hope to raise through donations aided by our own finances. Ideally we would like to create 2 alternative fields. We would be deeply thankful if you could support this project.
